Full consumer-law coverage — 30 regulatory rules
The regulatory engine was rebuilt from the ground up. Coverage expanded from 13 to 30 rules across EU, UK and Portuguese consumer law, including regulations that entered into force in the last 18 months. The estimated chargeback exposure figure was removed.
New
EU AI Act Art. 50 (Reg. 2024/1689) — transparency obligations, applicable since 2 August 2026. Two rules: AI chat widgets must identify themselves to the customer before the first interaction, and AI-generated product imagery, video and copy must carry machine-readable provenance marking. Stores already using generative tools have until 2 December 2026 to meet the marking requirement. Penalties reach EUR 15M or 3% of worldwide turnover, and apply extraterritorially wherever the output is used in the Union.
New
EU GPSR 2023/988 — General Product Safety Regulation, in force since December 2024. Requires producer identification on product listings and an EU-established responsible person for goods from non-EU brands.
New
Right of withdrawal detection — Contradeck now checks whether your refund policy explicitly discloses the 14-day right of withdrawal. Under CRD Art. 10, failing to disclose it extends the withdrawal period to 12 months.
New
Two-year legal guarantee — Detects when the statutory conformity guarantee (Sale of Goods Directive 2019/771) is absent from your policies.
New
Privacy policy check — Flags a missing published privacy policy as a GDPR Art. 13 breach.
New
EU Textile Regulation 1007/2011 — Fibre composition percentages are mandatory on online listings for clothing and footwear. Relevant for any apparel store selling into the EU.
New
UK DMCC Act 2024 — Fake reviews and subscription traps are now explicitly prohibited, with fines up to 10% of global turnover.
New
European Accessibility Act 2019/882 — Applicable to e-commerce since June 2025.

Additional coverage: EU Price Indication Directive (VAT-inclusive pricing), e-Commerce Directive Art. 8 (order button labelling), ePrivacy cookie consent, Portuguese Lei 24/96 and DL 7/2004.
Removed
Estimated monthly chargeback exposure — The dashboard figure applied the same industry-average rates to every store regardless of sector, which made the number unreliable. Individual findings still show the typical cost per dispute, which is grounded in actual processor fees.
Fixed
Session tokens are now permanent (offline) rather than expiring after 24 hours. This resolves the issue where billing actions silently failed with a 401 after a merchant's Shopify session ended.
Fixed
Reinstalling the app no longer resets a Pro or Agency store back to the Starter plan.
